Shop - Modifiers

Modified on Wed, 30 Nov 2022 at 11:36 AM

We have added the ability to add "modifiers" to your products to allow customers to add extras and requests onto their orders. To set this up, go to Shop > Modifiers and press the +Add button.

Enter the following information and then press Save:

  • Name - The name of the modifier (e.g. Extra Cheese)
  • Description - The description of the modifier (e.g. Grated mozzarella)
  • Type - There are two types of modifier, How Do You Like It and Addition. Both can have a price associated with them, however the former is intended for use as a cooking instruction or request (e.g. white bread/brown bread/gluten free or rare/medium/well) whereas the latter is for optional extras (e.g. additional toppings on a pizza)
  • Article - This is the billing article that the modifier is associated with for accounting purposes
  • Price - The price of the modifier (e.g. £0.00 for a choice of pizza base or £1.50 for an extra pizza topping)
  • Display Order - The order the modifier should be displayed online (e.g. enter "1" if you want it to appear first in the list of available modifiers)

To attach modifiers to your products, go to Shop > Products and click on a product name to edit it. You will now see a new section called 'Modifier' where you will be able add the relevant modifier(s) the product and then save your changes.

Available modifiers will then appear in a pop-up window when a customer selects a given product in your Shop. Regardless of whether or not you give your modifiers a price, How Do You Like It modifiers require the customer to choose one of these to proceed, whereas Additions are considered as optional extras.

To temporarily remove a modifier from sale, go to Shop > Modifiers and then edit it by clicking the pencil icon next to it or by clicking its name. You should then scroll to the bottom of the window and tick the 'Disabled' box:

To permanently remove a modifier altogether, go to Shop > Modifiers and click the red trashcan icon:
