The difference between adding a Credit Card payment and an Offline Card payment

Modified on Fri, 28 Jan 2022 at 12:35 PM

When you are adding a payment in Hop, you are presented with a list of payment methods, two of which are Credit Card and Offline Card. To put it simply, if you select Credit Card you will then be prompted to enter the full card details on the transaction screen and it will process the card electronically via Hop and either take payment there and then or store the card for later (if you enter £0.00 as the amount). If you select Offline Card, this does not take any money from the card - it is there to enable you to record the fact that you have taken a card payment but that it was not taken through Hop itself; in other words when you have a separate card machine through which you have processed the actual payment.
