When setting up a rate plan, you have the option to include a Promo Code on the Details tab. Doing so will allow guests to enter this Promo Code when creating a reservation on your booking engine, once you have your code there are two settings which you should be aware of.
Setting 1: Exclude rate plan from Booking Engine or API search results if promo code does not match.
If you tick the first box, this means that the promotional rate will only appear in search results on your booking engine if the Promo Code is spelt correctly, otherwise it will be hidden from view.
Example 1
If the promo code is correct, it will bring up the promotion rate plan
Example 2
If the promo code is spelt incorrectly you will be presented with the error message “Promo Code does not exist”. This means the rate cannot be booked.
Setting 2: Exclude all other rate plans if Promo Code is used
This means once the guest enters "SummerDiscount" into the promo code box on your website they will only see the promotional rate, no other rate plans will appear.
