How do I log and redeem a "pre authorisation" payment?

On the transactions screen of a reservation, reservation item or house account, click the +Add Transaction button.

Add a payment with the Transaction Type "PreAuth" and enter credit card details (or chose an existing card if available). Enter the amount and any additional info you want to log alongside the pre authorisation, then click "Add Transaction" to confirm:

To redeem the pre-authorisation and take payment, simply click on the amount, as highlighted below: 

This will make a little pop-up dialogue appear. Here, you can check (or indeed amend) the value and then click "capture" to take the payment:

On the transaction screen, the transaction type will change from "PreAuth" to "Payment" and the captured amount will now show (0.00 will change to the amount you have charged)

To cancel a pre-authorisation instead of redeeming it, simply click on the red icon shown in the Refund column onscreen:
