Mailchimp integration

Modified on Tue, 30 Jul at 12:05 PM

Hop is now able to offer its users the option to integration with Mailchimp. By connecting to the Mailchimp API we can import your new subscribers into the PMS so that your customer database is all in one place.

The integration works by running a daily check of your Mailchimp account to see if any new customers have been added to your mailing list. If so, it will pull them into the PMS for you automatically.

Connection

To set this up, you will need to go to Administration > Integrations in the PMS where you will see a configuration panel at the bottom like this:

Tick the 'Mailchimp Enabled' box and then please fill in the details below, using the following as a guide:

API Key
Copy and paste the details of your Mailchimp API Key here (click here to for more information)
List IDs to Import
If you have separate Lists/Audiences set up in Mailchimp you can choose to only pull certain ones into Hop by entering their ID numbers here (you can find the ID number in your Audience Settings within Mailchimp). Alternatively, leave this section blank and Hop will import everything from Mailchimp
Default Contact Tag
Please select one of the options available here to autopmatically tag your Mailchimp contacts or go to Administration > Option Sets and create a new tag if you prefer
Default Contact Source
Please select one of the options available from this list

Backfill

Once you are connected, you will see a second tab appear called Backfill. This can be used if you wish to import your existing data from Mailchimp or if the connection is interrupted and you need to ensure that Hop is in sync with Mailchimp again. to use this feature, simply enter the start date and end date (these are the dates that the people were added to Mailchimp) and then click the 'Import Contacts' button.

Please note when performing a backfill that the "End Date" has a cut-off of midnight, so if you were importing all entries for the month of January, you would need to enter 01/01/2022 and 01/02/2022 as your Start and End Dates. Similarly, for 1st January 2022 you would need to enter 01/01/2022 and 02/02/2022
