Setting up derived rates

Modified on Tue, 15 Aug 2023 at 03:22 PM

You can derive a rate plan from an existing plan. This has the advantage of meaning that once if you update the original "parent" or "base" rate plan, any rate plans that are derived from it will automatically be updated as well.

To derive one rate plan from another, either create a brand-new rate plan or edit an existing one. On the Rates tab, tick the box labelled 'Derive rates from another rate plan' and choose which of your existing rate plans you with to link it to.

Once you have chosen the rate plan you wish to derive from you then choose whether you would like to derive the rates by room or per person. You can also increase and decrease the rates as a percentage or as a value.

Please note that per person pricing should not be used on any rates that you would like to use for your OTA reservations as our integration with our OTA partners does not support occupancy-based pricing at this time.

Example 1

If my Room Only rate is £110 for a Double Room and I wish to derive my Bed & Breakfast rate to increase by £10 per adult included on the reservation. If I have 2 adults, then the Bed & Breakfast Rate will be £130.

Example 2

Here, I have derived the Room Only from my Bed & Breakfast rate to increase at £10 per adult and £5 per child. If I have 2 adults and 2 children the increase should be £30 which you can see in the screenshot below.

Example 3

To add for example a discounted Advance Purchase rate which is 10% lower per room than the Bed & Breakfast rate at £150. In this case, the rate should decrease by £15 to total £135 as seen below:
