Common errors when connecting to an OTA

Modified on Wed, 28 Aug at 12:02 PM

When connecting Hop to your OTA accounts, it is important to note that our channel manager "maps" (matches up) your rooms and rate plans to those that exist on the OTA Extranet on a one-to-one basis.

For example, let's say that in Hop, you have the following four rates:

  • BB Flexi
  • Room Only Flexi
  • BB Pay Now
  • Room Only Pay Now

We therefore need to be able to map these rate plans to four equivalent rate plans on the OTA (the names do not matter as the OTA will assign a unique code to each rate plan and that is what we use when mapping).

If this is not the case, you will need to amend your rate plan setup on either the OTA or Hop, according to your business needs.

The same applies to room types as well. Let's say that in Hop you have the following room types:

  • Single
  • Double
  • Family
  • Suite

We therefore need to be able to map these room types to four equivalent room types on the OTA (again, the names themselves do not matter as the OTA will assign a unique code to each one).

If this is not the case, you will need to amend your room type setup on either the OTA or Hop, according to your business needs.
