Why can't I cancel a pre-authorisation?

If you are trying to cancel a pre-authorisation and get an error message similar to the one shown below this is more than likely because the pre auth has already been cancelled or it has expired and thus cancelled automatically. 

A pre-auth will typically only remain in effect for approximately one week, depending on the payment gateway. We would suggest that you reach out to your payment gateway provider to confirm the exact timings as this varies from bank to bank.
