Housekeeping – Service Status


This section displays a list of any rooms that are listed as 'Out of Order', 'Out of Service' and 'Out of Inventory'.

When a particular room is put Out of Service, this will not be deducted from your occupancy figures, or affect any Yield Management rules that may be in place. Therefore, you will still be able to sell or allocate bookings to this room type even if the room has a status of Out of Service. An example of how this would be useful could be:



You have a group of rooms that you generally do not use in the low season when its quiet (say, the top floor or the Annexe Rooms). Through this period you could set them to ‘Out of Service’ however if you did receive a sudden influx of bookings, you will be able to allocate the rooms as needed. 


Any room that is 'Out of Inventory' or 'Out of Order' cannot be sold, or allocated until you delete the service status or the expiry date has elapsed. 


You can update a full floor by selecting the edit by floor functionality. This will allow you to put a full floor out of order,service or inventory.


Add a Service Status


To add a new service status, select the 'Add' button and fill in the necessary details. See image below for guidance:


*You can amend the service status reason list in Administration > Option Sets > Service Status Reason.
