Housekeeping - Lost Property

Modified on Wed, 3 Jan at 10:10 AM

This is where you can log any lost property and keep track of the status (Lost, Found, Claimed, Sent and Disposed) of each item. You can see an overview of all items that have been logged in the system, or search by keyword (e.g. "Watch") or status (e.g. "Lost").

To log a new item of Lost Property, click on +Add, enter a brief description (e.g. "Phone charger") as well as the details of where it was either lost or found (e.g. "Underneath the bed"). You will then need to select the current status (this is likely to either be "Lost" if a guest has contacted you to report that they left something behind or "Found" if a member of staff has found an item on your premises).

You will then need to select a Status Date which, in the first instance, is the date you are logging the incident (subsequent changes to the status - for example, from Found to Claimed - require you to add the date that this was updated). You can, if you want or need to, associate a particular room with an item of lost property - either at the time you raise it or at a later date. This is not mandatory, however.

You have the option to upload a photograph of the item when you are logging the issue. It is important that if you do not wish to do so that you tick the box No Images Included before you save and exit the page. Once saved a log number will be created.

This can be downloaded in PDF format.
