How to change Article Main Groups

Modified on Wed, 14 Aug at 10:36 AM

If you would like to streamline your main groups for better reporting purposes. You can do this by amending the main group set up within your articles.

1. Go to Administration > Option Sets and use the drop-down menu in the top right to locate the section called 'Main Group'

2. Click on the name of an existing one to edit it (e.g. if you wish to change "Sundries" to "Miscellaneous") or click the +Add button in the top right corner to create a new Main Group.

3. Go to Administration > Articles and then click on one of your articles to edit it. Scroll down the screen until you see the section called 'Main Group' and then use the drop-down menu to associate your new/updated Main Group to the article. Press Save to confirm your update.

4. Go back to Reports > Finance > Revenues and re-run the report. These changes will be immediately reflected in your results.

The Revenues report shows a breakdown of all revenue generated for a given date or date range listed by article Main Groups. This can be as broad or as limited to suit each business and these Main Groups are usually defined by each business at the time of set-up with Hop. If you need to change these at a later date you can do.
