Edinburgh Visitor Levy
Due to new legislation in Edinburgh properties must now charge a 5% visitor levy. Timeline of implementation below.
For more information visit https://www.parliament.scot/bills-and-laws/bills/visitor-levy-scotland-bill
To set this up head to Accounting Manager > Visitor Levy
Select the article to be used for the charge and add a new rule for the levy.
In line with legislation you must charge 5% for the first 5 days on the stay. Ensure you add in the active from and booking from.
The levy is calculated as part of the night audit process and you will see a separate line transaction for this. The levy should only be applied to the first 5 nights of a stay.
Please note the 5% is deducted from your accommodation amount we would therefore advise increasing rates by 5%.
The visitor levy also works with per stay charge method.
We have created a new Visitor Levy report which can be found in Reports > Finance. You can filter by reservation arrival date and date created. This can be downloaded in both PDF and CSV.
The Levy is displayed to the customer on the booking engine summary page
Ability to hide customer login/create account options within the booking engine.
From the Administration > Booking Engine Configuration options, there is now a button labelled "Allow guests to create and use an account on the Booking Engine?" Having this disabled will remove the create account/login options.
Snapshot repot can now filter out Out of Order/Inventory/Service
Within the snapshot report there is the ability when compiling to opt to display the OOO/OOI rooms within the data or exclude.
GTM SearchAvailability event added to the booking engine.
The event labelled as SearchAvailbility will now fire when there is a search of availability triggered within the booking engine. This can be added to GTM tracking so that there is data of the searches performed.
This contains data such as:
Check-in date
Check-out date
Best price
Currency
Number of nights
Number of adults
Preferences report adjustments
The Preferences report now includes email/phone number of the individual so that these can be exported when looking at who can receive brand offers and by what method on contact
Reservations Report Update
The reservations report will now not duplicate if there is more than 1 guest attached to the room, this will now stack within the one line.
