✨ New Feature: Guest & Booker Booking Edits

We're excited to introduce a powerful new feature in the Booking Engine:
Guests and bookers can now edit their reservations online, with full control over what’s allowed—all configurable by your team.

Where to Configure

1. Administration > Booking Engine

Here you’ll find the new settings that allow you to control:

  • Which fields are required for:
  • Booker/Guest

  • Pre check-in

  • Which channels/sources are allowed to make edits via the Booking Engine

  • Whether manually-created bookings can be edited online via Manage Your Booking

2. Policies > Edit/Cancellation Rules

You can now define when a booking is editable or cancellable:

  • Set the number of hours prior to arrival that a reservation can no longer be edited or cancelled in line with your policy.

  • Time is calculated from midnight on the day of arrival (e.g., 48 hours = 2 days before arrival date).

3. Services Settings

Control whether services added during booking can be changed:

  • New setting on each service:

    • True = Service can be edited or removed
    • False = Service is locked; cannot be edited/removed once booked

Please note payments for services added or removed will need to be taken or refunded manually by the property. You will be notified of any changes via a modification email sent from Hop.

How to Access Manage a Booking.

To use the new manage your booking functionality you can either add a direct link via email templates or the customer can do this using the booking engine.

  • A new custom field is available for email templates, allowing users to directly access their reservation to manage it.

  • A new “Manage Your Booking” button has been added to the Booking Engine menu for easy access.
    • Guests can click to review and manage their booking, based on the permissions you've defined.

  • If a reservation cannot be edited or cancelled, a message will be displayed clearly indicating that the booking is locked.

  • If it can be edited, the guest will see available options to:
    • Modify guest details
    • Upgrade room
    • Change reservation dates
    • Add or remove services (if allowed)
    • Cancel the booking (if allowed)

Email Updates –

We have added more information to the emails hotels receive when a booking is made or modified.
