We use cookies to try and give you a better experience in Freshdesk.
You can learn more about what kind of cookies we use, why, and how from our Privacy policy. If you hate cookies, or are just on a diet, you can disable them altogether too. Just note that the Freshdesk service is pretty big on some cookies (we love the choco-chip ones), and some portions of Freshdesk may not work properly if you disable cookies.
We’ll also assume you agree to the way we use cookies and are ok with it as described in our Privacy policy, unless you choose to disable them altogether through your browser.
Our final feature release of the year includes changes to the Booking Engine, Events, reporting, Manage Reservations and Yield Management.
Please share this with all relevant staff at your property.
We would love to hear your feedback on our new features; please feel free to use the Comments section below.

Address finder on Booking Engine
We have added an address finder to our Booking Engine so that when your customers come to the "Your Details" section when making a booking, when the postcode is entered this will display a list of addresses for them to choose from
Booking Engine Promo Code error messages
Further to feedback from the Hop Community, we have made the error messages more meaningful and related to the scenario they are being used. If a customer tries to use a Promo Code that is valid but their search falls outside of the validity dates, they will receive this message:
If the Promo Code they enter does not exist, they will receive this message:
If the Promo Code they enter has been deleted, they will receive this message:
Optional Extras wording
For the sake of clarity, we have now amended the wording on the “Optional Extras” pop-up on the Booking Engine so that if a Service is charged as a one-off amount it will be listed as "Per Stay" rather than "On Arrival"
Hide Excluded Services on Booking Engine instead of greying out
On the Booking Engine once the room type/s are selected and the “Optional Extras” pop-up is displayed, any services that you have decided to exclude from certain room types or rate plans will now not be shown at all, instead of being greyed-out.
Pay By Link phased deposits for Events
We are excited to introduce pay by link phased deposits for Events. You will now find an option to add Pay By Link Deposits on the Rates tab of your Events. You can add multiple deposits at different values. For example, Deposit 1 = £1000, Deposit 2 = £400, and Deposit 3 = £250
Once you have saved the Event, these will create the Custom Fields you need for your email templates whether this is for an Event Confirmation or Event Pre-Stay email.
These will become links for your guest to settle their deposit and once payment has been made this will link directly with the House Account for the Event.
Rename "Rooms" to "Event Rooms" for Events
For the sake of clarity, we have now changed all references from "Rooms" to "Event Rooms" in the Events section of the PMS (as well as any relevant reports) to help differentiate them from accommodation rooms.
Reports to show RES and RESX numbers together
The Reservations report and the Postings report now both display the reservation number of a booking as well as the reservation item number as well. This has been done to help users when reconciling transactions. On the Reservations report, you will now notice that there is a new column called Reservation Item. On the Postings report, whenever the Reservation Item value is populated the Reservation number will be too.
Report showing revenue per individual room
The Room Revenues report now shows the amount of money you have taken per room across your property. It can be filtered to show one or more rooms (or room types) at a time and for a single date or a date range. It includes all types of posting (e.g. night audit charges, EPOS room charges and manually-added so is useful for comparing performance of your rooms and spotting patters, as well as tracking down and reconciling charges
Daily Overview - Stayovers Calculation
Traditionally, the Stayovers figure should be the number of guests that are staying over from the night before however this report was also including arrivals as well (i.e. it was showing the total number of in house guests for the night). We have therefore amended the way that the Stayovers column is calculated on the following reports:
Manage Reservations - Advanced Search
We have introduced advanced filters in the Manage Reservation area, to aid and simplify the search function.
You can add filters to aid your search, searching by multiple fields is also supported and by clicking the “x” this will remove the filter and re-perform the search.
Add a Yield Management trigger
We have added a new button that will allow you to manually refresh your Yield Management rules, rather than waiting for them to run in the background. This means that if you have made some changes in the PMS your yield rules can be immediately run again to take this into effect. Please note that this feature is by default not enabled in the PMS. If you would like to take advantage of it, click here to send us an email and ask for it to be turned on.
Authipay and WorldPay - 3DS and SCA
We have carried out some development work to help you with compliance relating to the new SCA regulations on card payments. If you use Authipay, you should liaise with them to confirm that this has been enabled in your account. No changes will need to be made in Hop. If your WorldPay account has been enabled for 3DS version 2, please click here to send us an email so that we can enable this in the PMS for you.
